SO LONG, MARIANNE

With “So long, Marianne” (working title) – I´m happy to continue the collaboration with Hysteria Film and Malla Grapengiesser. In Malla I´ve found a producer and above all a person who sees art and film in a very similar way to my self.

The script, written by me in 2010 with the dramaturgical support of Kurt Öberg, deals with our desire to be seen. To be famous or to be seen for who we really are. To discover who you are from learning to see someone else. It´s an urban tale about the surface we project and what lies beneath.

Josephine is working as a home carer while waiting for her music career to take off. Bit by bit her life falls apart, and she suddenly finds herself homeless and alone. She has lost sight of herself and forgotten why she ever began writing music. Marianne, one of the old women she works for, lives in an eight room apartment, and Josephine finds a grand piano in her drawing room. Unbeknown to anyone, Josephine moves into the deaf old woman’s guest room.

So Long, Marianne is a film about a young woman learning to find her own way through her encounter with an elderly woman. It is a reflection on modern woman in an urban world, in which we ourselves alone can decide who we want to be.

So Long Marianne is the film I always wanted to see: Melancholic, honest and ambitious. In 2013 you will be able to see it.

With: Gunnel Lindblom, Ida Engvoll, Görel Crona

Writer/Director: Ylva Forner

Producer: Malla Grapengiesser, Hysteria Film AB

Composer:Lisa Lindal Genre: Feature Film Duration: ca.90 min. Format: HD Release: 2013 With the development support of: Swedish Film Institute.
